Mitmachen

In der Photobastei: Stehe in der Ausstellung SALTOARTE (14. Januar – 7.

a city listens · exhibition SALTOARTE at Photobastei, Sihlquai 125, 8005 Zurich, 14 January – 7 February 2027

An exhibition is waiting for your voice

One hundred and eleven years ago, the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich became the first place where a seemingly senseless language was spoken that was, in fact, full of meaning. During the SALTOARTE exhibition, the Photobastei belongs not only to the Dadaists' invented language of the past, but also to your own voice.

Take part

At the Photobastei: Stand on the marked spot on the ground at the SALTOARTE exhibition (14 January – 7 February 2027). What you hear there was sent by someone you may know or may never meet.

Here online: Choose one of the following questions and answer it, loud and clear, at the "Click to speak" button. Anonymous, no name, no face.

First tap a question, then check "I agree" – only then can you record.

Choose a question above, then confirm your consent.

Up to 90 seconds. The circle fills as you speak.

Please don't mention any names or details that could identify you.

What is this about?

ECHO is a sound installation as part of the SALTOARTE exhibition. On a marked spot on the ground, voices can be heard from above – only there, nowhere else. This experiment sets out to explore the diversity of ideas, experiences, opinions, and linguistic expression. IG ECHO listens closely to every contribution, refines it where needed, and brings it into the open. There is no right or wrong — only the courage to be heard.

Continuation

The experiment may perhaps be continued in other places. There is no online playback, because having to go and listen in person is part of the idea.
